NEW FRAME LINE ALERT! ITALIA INDEPENDENT

We are excited to be bringing Italia Independent by House of Modo to Spectacle this month! We recently met with the rep to hand select the frames that will be on display in our office soon. We wanted to give you a peek into the company, our impressions from our meeting, and a preview of what you will see once you check out the new line for yourself at Spectacle!

THE STORY

Lapo Elkann founded the brand in 2007. He comes from the Fiat family and brings this sports car design directly to his eyewear. In 2023, House of Modo purchased the company and have since evolved the brand to bring Italia Independent to more countries while integrating the quality of Modo and ease of wear that we love and still keeping the classic lines with sports car influence that Italia Independent is known for. We are glad to be partnering with House of Modo to bring another one of their lines to Spectacle!

THE FRAMES

As we mentioned, it was Lapo’s dream to bring the sports car influence to his eyewear, but what exactly does that mean? The lines and curves to the frame front resemble the character lines, or sculpture ridging that adds a touch of sportiness to a car. When the frames are open the temple and frame front meet in perfect precision to replicate a car door opening and closing in the same manner. The styling and colors replicate a sports car with it’s bright colors or unique materials, like these velvet red cat eye suns, to draw attention to it’s details. We think you’ll quickly fall in love with the pops of color and fun vibe of these frames!
